I graduated from CSU Chico in 1985 with a BA in Spanish and English (double major). I have been teaching ever since.
I am divorced, and I live in Colusa so I can help out my parents. I teach eighth grade English (everyone's favorite grade and subject) at Anna McKenney Intermediate School in Marysville. I was honored with a Yuba County Educators Who Make a Difference Award in 2012. I have a son who was born on September 18, 1992. He has been sworn into the United States Navy, and he goes to Basic Training in January of 2013 (so far). He had a summer job (2012) with the Marysville GoldSox baseball team; he was their mascot, Mr. G. I have traveled to many places. My son and I went to Alaska in 2009, and I would love to live there someday. My interests are music (no rap or country), movies, football, Fantasy football, concerts, Star Trek, travel, Alaska, Las Vegas, world peace, amusement parks, roller coasters, liberal politics, Internet research, Internet stalking, street fairs, cold weather, and winning the Lotto, not necessarily in that order. Dang, I feel like I'm writing a personal ad! Is anyone interested? I'm kidding. I think...maybe... Anyway, I miss you all, and I look forward to seeing you again. After school I married Larry Pogue, had kids and became a widow by 22. Fell off a deep end, came back and went to college and remarried. Left CA in the early 90's economic crash, and divorced. My mother passed on in 1998 and I came back to CA to finish college as my girls finished high school. Been teaching ever since, starting my 8th year and believe it or not -loving every minute! |

Urquhart, Chiemi Ash
San Antonio, Texas
Since June 2010, I've married the best and most wonderful man, Joseph Lincoln Ash aka honey bunny. Who knew? In 1977, we were secretly seeing each other in Colusa before he moved to Texas. Joe had a strong impact on my heart that year and for atleast two years following. In June of 2009, Joe tried contacting me through classmates.com and I didnt get that message till August of the same year. I finally responded and after exchanging e-mails, telephone numbers, chatting on facebook, etc....on January 21, 2010, a plane ticket was purchased for San Antonio, Texas.
For the next six months we communted California to Texas, Texas to California to nuture our love affair. In June 2010, with kids grown, I left California and moved to Texas to start the most wonderful journey of my life. In November 2010, we took our vows and it was one of the most beautiful days of my life (and his!). My son gave me away, my step-son played the wedding march on his violin, my daughter was the photographer and my step-daughter was the ring bearer. Friends and family flying in from California. I'm getting alittle teary just thinking about that day! We are still strong and happy, and now proud grandparents aka Papi and Nani. My daughter Lauren gave birth to beautiful girl, Aadison Taylor on May 19, 2012 (3 days short of my 50th birthday). But what a present! I was able to be with my daughter one day shy of giving birth and stayed with them for two weeks. Turning 50 really didnt hit me emotionally. I've convinced myself that I am immortal at 29 years of age and I'm not going to change! (wait, that sounds like an old lady! lol!). |
