What people are saying...
Hi, Lucy!! I just wanted to take a moment and thank you and your fellow coordinators for your efforts in regard to the recent high school reunion. I want you to know that both April and I had a wonderful time and it was a perfect way to begin our vacation.
In particular, I really liked the variety of lists displayed on each table as it took me (and I'm sure, others) back to those magical times of high school. It also reminds me of how much the times have changed in regard to the economy and how we have grown as a country, in general, and as individuals in particular.
Another point is how truly impressed I was with the caliber of people that existed in your class. Regardless of their level of success, everyone in that room seemed to truly celelbrate and enjoy one another's company and re-living their youth. I even heard the tale of a classmate extending a hand to one of your own who has fallen on tough times--that is what friendship is all about! My own high school class was very close knit but have gone separate ways, for the most part, with a few exceptions. I imagine if we were to get together again, we could pick up where we left off--just like your class did.
Thanks for such a truly wonderful and memorable event and for paving the way and displaying the true meaning of friendship.

Though I have not been involved in the planning of our previous reunions, I have to say that I am so glad that Lucy encouraged me to get involved for this one. Though it is always stressful and a tremendous responsibility to put one of these on, I was reminded that our strength comes not as an individual, but as a team. The committee was rewarded ten fold for the work that we put into planning this event. The appreciation and love that was shared both during and after the reunion makes it all worth it. You can bet I will be contributing my time and efforts towards our 40th Class Reunion in 2020.

I had a wonderful time seeing everyone. It had been 25 to 30 years since I had seen alot of you, it was really good to see you all that got to attend. Missed the ones that weren't able to attend. Hopeing that more will be able to attend the 40 Year Reunion. It was really a fun evening. Thank you very much to the Reunion committee for doing such a wonderful job.
~ Billie Jo Wilson Cortez - 6/29/10
Well, like I said that night. It was great to be part of our 30th reunion. When I saw people as I arrived and when others arrived it was a very happy moment. I got to visit with a lot of people and share past school events. Everyone had something to say or when one didn't remember something another did. It was great to see all the teachers. It was nice to visit with classmates that I wasn't close to in school. I really had a very memoriable time and I will not forget it and thanks to Scott, Rhonda and whoever else that took pitcures and displayed them on FB. It defently was a success.

Had an AWESOME evening last night at the Colusa High School 30yr class reunion!!! Thanks to Lucy, Rhonda, Nancy, Joy & LeNette for their work on making it fun. You should be writing the book on how to put on a GREAT reunion party. And an extra thanks to Lucy, who made sure to remind me all night that I left Colusa and became a Husky!!! LOL Miss you guys already...
~ Grant Mitchell - 6/28/10
It was great to see such a great turn out and it was a great evening. Lucy and all the rest who put the event together did a great job. Really reminded me, what a great group of people I had the opportunity to grow up with how lucky I was to be in the class of 1980.
~ Les Tyler - 6/28/10
I totally agree with Mr. Vafis. You could really feel the love and family unity you all have for each other. It is like time stood still for one evening. Thank you ladies for all your hardwork in making the evening a huge success! Russ and I had an absolute blast!
~ Debbie Hickel - 6/28/10
I can’t even begin to tell you how much it meant to me to be invited and how much I enjoyed seeing everyone there. I still cannot believe it has been 30 years! When I went up to the mic it was my intention to say something about how fondly I have always remembered this particular class. It was, indeed, special (maybe because none of my own girls were in it!..........my nephew, Steve, and his pals were plenty!) I was still in the classroom at the west end of that wonderful old grammar school building. It was a great room with plenty of space for all projects and I had the whole school day with my own class. Time could be spent on whatever it needed to be spent upon without 50 interruptions a day and groups going in and out for various and sundry state mandated programs or whatever. Truly that year is one of the very best in my memory and, from what some of you said to me, yours as well! When I went to the mic I think I expressed my happiness at just being there then thought I was talking too much and sat down before I said more. Thank you again!................. I would always be happy to hear from any or all!
Cheers!

Hey Everyone,
Just a note to say thanks to everyone for showing up and making last night a huge success. Lucy, Rhonda and the rest of you who put the event together, a heartfelt thanks, you are truly special people. Thanks also to the teachers and guests. It was your hard work those many years ago that brought us all together last night. So, get home safe and keep in touch!
~ Rob Davies - 6/27/10
Your Reunion was far more than a success. I don't know when I have had a more pleasant evening and as much fun. It was wonderful to have so many of the class of 1980 attend and those that remembered their Middle School teacher. I commend all of you who did so much hard work on the occasion and appreciate being included.
I won't be at the next one but I will keep the memories of this one.
To all of the committee: YOU WERE FANTASTIC. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR INCLUDING ME.
~ Mrs. Barbara Boggs - 6/27/10
I used to think that the Class of 80 looked so good because they were preceded by the outrageous Class of 79. You guys lost so many activities because of your predecessor! After last night's gathering I've changed my mind. I was impressed by your openness and acceptance of each other, your genuine caring for each other, and the generally classy way you handled the reunion. Well done all of you and especially Lucy, Rhonda, Joy, Nancy, and LeNette for making such a fun evening.
~ Mr. John Vafis - 6/27/10
I had a great time at the reunion. It was wonderful to see all of you. I am looking forward to stalking you again in 2020. Our vision may not be 2020 by then, but it's a cool number. Hugs from me. :)
~ Nancy Davis - 6/27/10
Wow, what a night! I have to say, we have the Best Class ever! What an honor it is to be part of this Class of 1980. It felt like everyone arrived truly excited to be there.
We've been planning this reunion for quite a long time. I've bugged you all with email after email, but I have to say... it was sure worth all the time and effort. It was so rewarding to see everyone enjoying eachothers company; visiting and mingling with such joy on all your faces.
The night went just as planned... hugs on arrival, cocktails, a moment of silence for our military, recognizing our classmates who have served, dinner, awards, the Guess Who game, and the Open Mic time. Now that was a last minute decision, but I'm so glad we had it. You could truly feel the love and appreciation in the room.
Thank you to all who attended; this reunion would not have been a success with out all of you attending and participating in all the events. Thank you so Much!
And a Big Thank You to Rhonda, Joy, LeNette, and Nancy for all their time, talents, and efforts they gave to our Reunion Committee; What a Team! It was such a joy to work with you all.
See you all in 2020 for our 40th Reunion!
~ Lucy Olivares Thompson - 6/27/10
I have enjoyed looking at the pictures of the kids when they were younger. It is really great to see them all grown up. You have really done a fantastic job!!!
